Yesterday we recruited a guy that would sell our CD and DVD duplication service for nothing. No salary, no car, no profit sharing, absolutely nothing and he has bags of enthusiasm too.

What's the catch? there isn't one, no seriously this guy would work for you too!

He's called Malcolm and he called us late on Thursday afternoon to ask if we could help him out. He was travelling to Birmingham this weekend to be at his Mums funeral on Monday and he wanted to transfer some video footage of his Mum to DVD and to have 3 DVD copies. He had rang half a dozen companies and they all either didn't offer a video to DVD service or that they wasn't able to turn it around in such a small amount of time. We instantly wanted to help him out and fortunately we do offer this service and although the turnaround was tight we made extra effort to have it ready for him to take this weekend.

We turned it around and Malcolm was over the moon and although it was such a small project to do in comparison to most of the large CD and DVD duplication orders we carry out it probably gave me a little bit more satisfaction, knowing how much it meant to him.

On collecting his DVD copies, the last thing Malcolm said to me was:-

"Justin, Thank you for all your help and I will definitely be recommending you to others."

Late nights got me Googleyed

Late nights, it never stops! I thought optimising our website www.bigwheelmedia.co.uk in attempt to move up the page ranking in Google for CD and DVD duplication and print was going to be easier than it actually has been.

Nevertheless, it's been very good but 'wow' it certainly gets me frustrated at times, but hey we're making real progress now and I'm now officially Googleyed...!

Yes, the stats have got me, I now can't resist checking how many visits we've had, what page has been viewed and how people have found us and with what keyword, its fantastic and really helps to know what is and isn't working on your website. Recently we changed how our CD duplication Special Offers page sits on the website and are now noticing a big increase in the number of 'click through's to that page, we'll see how it goes and continue our quest to 'Kick the Trend'!

Coming out of 2008 heading towards a recession and then going into one in 2009 has undoubtedly been a huge blow to most businesses. With this etched deep into my mind during most of the final quarter of 2008 I was determined to try new things in 2009, 'I would be wrong to suggest that we could buck the trend' but I'm damn determined to give it one hell of a kick!

Our plan is to do more online advertising with 'google Adwords' using key words such as CD duplication, DVD duplication, CD printing etc... (ok- I'm trying to fit a few key words into my blog!!) 'free listings' on directory websites and do better at optimising our website www.bigwheelmedia.co.uk to get up that everest of pages to be near 'what we may selfishly consider un-deserving competitors' on page 1 of Google. Will keep the blog updated regular any other businesses who would like to join us in kicking hell out of the trend, get on board and follow our blog and link us to yours!!!
